About the Story
Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico on Sept. 20 as a Category 4 hurricane. It bisected the island for 12 hours, destroying the electric power grid and thousands of homes, businesses and government buildings. The effects have been multiple, devastating, and long-lasting.
