Joins famous father as world champion

reviseddoubleassaultposterIn a clash for the vacant WBO junior featherweight championship, Wilfredo Vazquez, Jr. (18-0-1, 15 KOs) scored an impressive fourth round KO over previously unbeaten former WBO super flyweight champion Marvin Sonsona (14-1-1, 12 KOs) on Saturday night at the Coliseo Ruben Rodriguez in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Vazquez Jr., son of Puerto Rican ring great Wilfredo Vazquez, took over the fight in round two and battered the 19-year-old former 115lb champion who had moved up two divisions to the deck in the fourth. A Vazquez left hook to the liver ended it for Sonsona at the 2:01 mark. He did not beat the count of referee Luis Pabon.
